3 Storage
3.1 General
As chapter grows & programs enlarge the current storage problem will increase. Annually the building inspector cites these problems and the “stuff” gets shuffled into vacant rooms.
Life safety is jeopardized when the extremely flammable and explosive outdoor cooking grilles get located into the exit stair.

3.3 Recommendations
Storage especially at lower levels are taken very seriously by code regulations and require legal enclosure, rated walls and doors, automatic sprinkler and smoke sensors. If new space is to be added at space remodel then it needs to be planned for now.
Several possible locations could be considered:
- Attic and basement levels
- Attic loading is limited by structural
capacity and fire separation
- Basement at ritual/chapter room
- Basement at possible future pantry/multipurpose
room
- Exterior – Outdoor storage shed
- Upgrade existing storage closets
